Balaena, LLC

Balaena, LLC has developed OSRV that is self-propelled, self-storing, and can discharge its own collected product to transport/storage tanks either in process or at dockside. In addition to oil recovery, our patented design is effective in the mitigation of floating debris, plastic and micro-plastic, and toxic algae blooms. Our prototype measures 32’ x10’ x 4’-9” with design performance criteria including 10-passenger capacity, 25 knot transit speed, 7 knot+ oil recovery speed, a surface tolerance during recovery of 12” chop, and onboard storage of nearly 2,000 gallons.
